As of  November 25, Kedah State Health Department (JKN) reported two deaths in the Kota Setar district of Kedah due to Japanese Encephalitis (JE). According to Kedah State Health Director, Dr Othman Warijo, the first incidence was reported on November 18 followed by the second case on November 25, 2021. In both cases, the person died as a result of the infection. The Department of Health had started to control the spread of the virus, such as spraying insect repellent and collecting samples for this research. How did the JE virus's mode of transmission? It spread through the bite of culex mosquitoes that can breed in reservoirs.

Action to prevent virus transmission:

1. Avoid being a victim by paying attention to your home's hygiene.
2. Prevent larvae from forming near the house, and spray mosquito repellent at night if required.
3. We can wear brightly coloured long-sleeved clothing outdoor to avoid mosquito bites.

We should get seek immediate treatment if experience symptoms such as fever, headache and vomiting. In order to avoid becoming a victim of coronavirus disease, we must also be cautious against other infections. Flood in October 2021

20 October 2021 (Night), heavy rains continued to fall on the Malay Peninsula's western and northern regions. Over two hours of severe rain created flash floods in at least five Malaysian states, evacuating over 1,000 people. Malacca, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Perak and others are among the states affected. The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia start rescue and victims were placed in temporary shelters. Some of these villages have been surrounded by floods and have become "swamp townships". The road was flooded to the point that the water level had reached half a wheel, leading some passing vehicles to become stuck. This will make it difficult for the villagers to get a good night's sleep in order to prevent the situation from getting worse and necessitating reaction steps such as moving electrical equipment to a higher location to reduce water damage.

Flooding occurs when a big amount of garbage and building waste blocks the drainage system. People should be aware of the importance of environmental protection and should not toss trash into rivers to save time. Aside from that, the government should take steps to mitigate the damage caused by floods to residents, such as forming a special task force to oversee drainage design on construction sites and paving high beachfront roads to prevent flooding in fishing village urban areas. The rainy season in Malaysia runs from October to December every year, and as the month approaches, villages would take preparations to avoid mishaps. Disasters, on the other hand, will continue to cause losses to the communities. As a result, citizens and government should collaborate to safeguard the environment and adopt preventative measures.
